Our 25th Anniversary Workers’ Compensation Law Conference (MCLE)

I’m thrilled to announce that Joe III and I will once again co-chair the annual Workers’ Compensation Law Conference, sponsored by Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE). This year’s event is scheduled for Friday, November 22, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This will mark my 25th consecutive year of chairing or co-chairing this pivotal conference, a milestone that reflects the dedication of everyone involved in Massachusetts workers’ compensation law. As always, we are committed to creating a program that provides the most current, comprehensive updates for everyone in the workers’ compensation system, from legal practitioners to healthcare and insurance professionals.

Celebrating a Quarter-Century of Educational Excellence

Over the past 25 years, the Workers’ Compensation Law Conference has grown into a premier event for professionals invested in Massachusetts’ workers’ compensation system. When we first started, our primary goal was to create a space where judges, attorneys, doctors, insurers, and other stakeholders could come together to discuss new developments, best practices, and legal precedents. Each year, our dedicated faculty curates a program filled with valuable insights into evolving trends and issues in workers’ compensation. The conference has become a must-attend event for those seeking to stay up-to-date on the complexities and nuances of this area of law.

This year, as we celebrate this significant anniversary, we are especially grateful for the continued support and enthusiasm of our attendees and speakers. This shared commitment has been instrumental in shaping this conference into the respected platform it is today. We’re excited to carry on this tradition of excellence, and we look forward to another outstanding day of learning, networking, and professional growth.

A Robust Agenda with Expert Faculty

As in previous years, the conference will feature a distinguished faculty of judges, legal practitioners, medical professionals, and insurance experts, all of whom bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the program. Our goal is to provide attendees with practical and relevant updates, covering topics that are central to the effective management and adjudication of workers’ compensation cases.

This year’s agenda will include a mix of presentations, panel discussions, and Q&A sessions, ensuring a comprehensive exploration of both recent case law and procedural changes that impact workers’ compensation claims. Topics will cover current challenges, legislative changes, judicial trends, medical evidence, and risk management. The interactive format allows participants not only to learn from the presenters but also to engage in discussions that can deepen their understanding and enhance their practice.

Networking Opportunities and Community Building

One of the conference’s highlights is the opportunity it offers for networking. With professionals from various backgrounds and specializations coming together under one roof, attendees can connect, exchange ideas, and share experiences. This event fosters a collaborative atmosphere where participants can meet others facing similar challenges, gain different perspectives, and even establish new professional relationships. Our goal is to cultivate a strong, supportive community of workers’ compensation professionals who are committed to advancing the system for the benefit of injured workers and employers alike.

Encouragement for Participation and Engagement

We highly encourage all attendees to participate actively, whether by asking questions, sharing insights, or simply listening attentively. The conference is a forum for open exchange, and we believe that the diversity of perspectives is one of its greatest strengths. As workers’ compensation law continues to evolve, it is crucial for all stakeholders to stay informed and engaged, and this conference provides an ideal setting for doing just that.

If you are involved in any aspect of workers’ compensation—whether as a lawyer, judge, medical professional, claims adjuster, or insurer—your presence will add immense value to the discussion. We are excited to hear from you and to learn from your experiences and insights.

Looking Forward to a Memorable Conference

As we approach this special anniversary of the Workers’ Compensation Law Conference, I am filled with gratitude and excitement. It has been a privilege to help organize this program year after year, and I am thrilled to be able to continue this work with Joe III. This year’s conference promises to be as informative and impactful as ever, and I am confident that all who attend will find it both valuable and inspiring.

We look forward to seeing familiar faces and welcoming new ones. Join us for this unique opportunity to learn, share, and connect with fellow professionals committed to the advancement of workers’ compensation in Massachusetts.
